ACCESS Education is an innovative and progressive provider of educational tuition and workshops for students with special educational needs. Staffed by experienced teachers with many years of training and experience, ACCESS is based in a comfortable and well-equipped suite of classrooms close to Carlow town.

They are fully accredited by the Dyslexia Association of Ireland, registered in the delivery of the ASDAN programme, recently Garda vetted and trained in the provision of programmes such as Social Stories, Social Skills workshops, T-TAP and TEACCH methodologies.

Transition from Primary to Post-Primary School for Parents
This two hour workshop is designed for the parents of students with special educational needs (dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, dyspraxia, ADHD etc.). It outlines how to prepare your child for the transition from primary to post-primary school with the aid of a detailed pack including activities and worksheets. The workshop will address isssues such as applications for Resource or Learning Support hours, questions to ask when choosing a post-primary school for your child and the development of an Individual Education Plan (IEP). We recommend that parents begin thinking about the transition to post-primary education when their child is in Fourth or Fifth Class. However, it is not too late to attend if your child will begin a new school this September.

Social Skills 3-day Workshop - Ages 8 to 14
This comprehensive Social Skills Workshop will be delivered over three half-day sessions. It is aimed at students who find it difficult to interact with their peers, experience isolation or become stressed in unfamiliar social situations. Students who experience social difficulties may also find it challenging to regulate their emotional responses and may become upset, angry or frustrated. The workshop will address how to recognise and manage these emotions and develop the emotional literacy and self-awareness of the student.
